Int. FTCH Drumgoose Warlord “Murph”
Murph is by far the best dog I have ever seen or handled. He is arguably the most accomplished dog ever to set foot on American soil. His extraordinary overseas trialing career was highlighted by winning the 2016 Irish Retriever Championship. He is an intensely focused retriever out in the field, yet he turns it off when he steps into our home. If you were to spend some time in our home with Murph, you would probably assume he was lazy. He is more than happy to curl up next to us and sleep all day. Our toddler, Dalton, crawls all over Murph and can often be found lying beside Murph in his bed. However, when I get out a bumper or a ball, you can see Murph flip a switch, as he knows it’s time to work. He hunts with immense style and has an impeccable nose that was made to find game in thick cover.
Murph’s pedigree reads like a who’s who of the gundog world. His mother, Int. FTCH, The Newcam Boss, placed third in the Irish Championship the year Murph won. His sire, FTCH Astraglen Fergie, placed third in 2012. His pedigree also includes other great dogs, such as Int. FTCH Craighorn Bracken and FTCH Pocklea Remus are both winners of the IGL. Murph embodies everything we are trying to produce in our pups, and we are blessed to have him.
